This webpage is a celebration of our staff and their dedication to serving the TCNJ community. It is here where we will post service anniversaries, customer services awards winners, and any other success stories featuring our staff.
Members of the TCNJ Dining Services team go through several hours of customer service training every year, learning what we call the 8 Simple Things Customers Expect. During training, we give our employees the tools to serve each and every customer with respect and with a smile, and go to great lengths to encourage the use of these skills every day.
Our employees have the opportunity to earn Sodexo Stars all throughout the year. The Stars program awards employees for going above and beyond for our customers, and their co-workers. Stars are accumulated through the year, and can be redeemed for great prizes including digital cameras, professional knife sets, even flat-screen TVs!
Did you know you could be a part of nominating an employee for a customer service award? Every month, an employee from each location on campus is nominated for a Sodexo Experience award. Nominations come from the management team, fellow employees, as well as our customers. We welcome you to nominate your favorite Dining Services employee for a Sodexo Experience award by sending a quick email to email@example.com!
Include why you are nominating this person and how they have demonstrated excellent customer service. A winner from each location will be selected, and will receive a certificate and a small gift. They will also be in the running to be the monthly Sodexo Experience winner for the entire campus!

Sodexo Experience Winners
Every month we are going to be showcasing our Sodexo Experience Winners. These employees go above and beyond the usual “call of duty.” Check back in September to see who the new winners are!
Shanda is our morning cook in Eickhoff. She goes above and beyond to ensure that our customers have fresh, hot food ready for them first thing in the morning. Shanda is a well-rounded employee. She has a plan every morning to ensure everything she needs to complete before the end of her shift is finished. Shanda walks into work each shift ready for action with a smile on her face and a friendly attitude. Shanda has been with The College of New Jersey team since 2006 and in her 7 years with us she has held many different positions-working to the best potential she has in each one. Shanda is not found to be idle; she is well liked by her co-workers and supervisors, with a reputation of a friendly person that can be counted on. She is a hard worker that makes each shift the she is working run a little smoother. We are very proud to have such a hard worker on our team making each day a better day!
Sheborah has continuously gone above and beyond to ensure that our customers have everything they need while in our dining facility. Sheborah is a well-rounded employee. She has set a goal to learn and be trained in all areas of the business. She is often found helping out on different stations thought out her shift, while keep up with her station. Sheborah walks into work each shift ready for action with a smile on her face and a friendly attitude. Her willingness to help others to benefit the business needs is a great part of her self-initiative that is so very helpful to us.
Nakief has a great work ethic and excellent time management skills. She is always willing to do what needs to be done without being ask. Nakief demonstrates patience, while taking the time to fully understand the customers order. She works well under pressure, as we can be very busy during the night-time rush. Nakief always arrives for work on time and ready to work. Nakief has a keen understanding of the Starbucks products and is able to translate that to our customers. She greets our customers with a smile and assists them in getting exactly what they want. The customer always leave happy, which translates into return business and sheds a good light on the Café. Nakief goes above and beyond without having to be told. I feel she defines the meaning of customer service.
