Eating Healthy

If you have a food allergy, medical condition, or nutritional concern, we can take an interdisciplinary team approach to ensure that you are receiving support from multiple resources on campus. We encourage you to reach out to Dineen Denkovic, Registered Dietitian, at sdhrd@tcnj.edu or Vincent "Vince" Papp, General Manager of Residential Dining & Catering, at vincent.papp@sodexo.com, and Disability Support Services.

Food Allergies and Dietary Needs

If you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, we encourage you to connect to The College of New Jersey's Accessibility Resource Center to ensure that we can work as a team to seamlessly meet all of your dining needs.

The College of New Jersey looks forward to working with you to address your culinary concerns. We can speak with anyone who follows a specific type of diet out of health or medical necessity, or for lifestyle or religious reasons. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, we highly recommend that you contact Nicole Piotrowski, Registered Dietitian. Your food allergy or intolerance will be reviewed to help you make informed decisions about your food choices.

If you follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, we offer many options at all of our dining destinations on campus so you always have a choice that is right for you.

TCNJ Dining Services prides itself on keeping an open line of communication with our campus community to optimize nutrition and discuss dietary concerns. Students, faculty and staff can join us at our monthly Dining Services Committee meetings. Our meeting times, dates and locations can be found here!

Simple Zone offers many gluten-free dry goods and frozen foods, as well as dedicated equipment to use. Simple Zone is an area that continues to evolve with the assistance of our gluten-free students. We encourage students using this area to contact Nicole Piotrowski, Registered Dietitian, with any suggestions they may have.

At TCNJ, the health and well-being of our community are vital. We actively promote the importance of nutrition, health, and wellness through our Mindful program. Mindful offerings feature healthy dining options that are well balanced, lower in calories, fat, sodium, and cholesterol, so that a healthier lifestyle is an easy choice. We list nutritional information throughout our dining locations and on our website to better inform our students about what they are eating.

VegetarianMenu items with the vegetarian icon contain no meat, fish or poultry, or any meat products such as soup base. Our vegetarian offerings meet the needs of lacto-ovo vegetarians and may include eggs and/or dairy products.

VeganVegan offerings contain no meat, fish, eggs, milk or other animal-derived products such as honey.
